Contains the following type of materials: photographs. Covers the following wars: Philippine Insurrection; World War I (WWI). Contains photographs of the following military units and organizations: 16th Regiment, United States (U.S.) Infantry; 1st Division, American Expeditionary Force (AEF), 3rd Division, AEF. General description of the collection: The Beaumont B. Buck photograph collection covers the extensive career of Major General Buck from his service with the "Stonewall Greys" in 1877 until well after his retirement in 1924. He was assigned to the 16th Infantry Regiment for much of his early career and there are several photos covering that unit between 1892 and about 1912, with numerous photos being taken in the Philippines during this time. A series also covers training of the Massachusetts National Guard between 1914 and 1917. There is coverage of General Buck with both the 1st Division and the 3rd Division of the AEF during WWI. The bulk of the remainder of the collection includes a number of post-retirement activity photos from the 1920s, 1930s, and 1940s as well as numerous family and friend photos from the 1920s through the 1940s.

Beaumont Bonaparte Buck (b. Jan. 16, 1860, Mayhew, Mississippi-d. Feb. 10, 1950), U.S. Army officer, graduated from West Point in 1885. A distinguished marksman, he served in the Philippines, on the Mexican border, and during World War I participated in the first all-American offensive at Catigny and in other key offensives in 1918.
